The Program
The BioEntrepreneurship & Innovation program is an intensive, hands-on blockcourse that bridges biomedical research and entrepreneurship.
Through interactive workshops, teamwork, mentoring, and expert insights, you’ll learn how to transform scientific knowledge into solutions that address real needs.
Learning Journey
The curriculum is designed to develop entrepreneurship skills around the following 5 essential pillars over 3.5 weeks:
Week 1 – Explore
Understand the landscape of biomedical innovation.
Identify unmet needs, map stakeholders, and define value drivers.
Brainstorm possible startup ideas with your peers.
Week 2/3 – Design & iterate
Transform insights into viable ideas through expert feedback.
Learn about clinical development, IP strategy, basics in legal, finances, and regulatory affairs.
Apply Design Thinking, business modeling, and storytelling to shape your concept.
Week 4 – Pitch
Communicate your innovation.
Present your (mock) startup to a panel of industry experts and receive feedback.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the BEI program, you will:
- Grasp the fundamentals of entrepreneurship in the life sciences
- Analyze stakeholders and define strong value propositions
- Work effectively in interdisciplinary teams
- Communicate ideas clearly and persuasively
- Experience a startup journey - from idea to impact - in a safe, creative environment
Evaluation
Your final assessment combines reflection and application:
- 50% Written Team Report on your startup project (submitted in the final week)
- 50% Oral Team Presentation on the last day of the course
